NYU launches largest student hacking competition worldwide


The NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering has opened registration for a massive hacking competition which offers US students the chance to win cybersecurity-based scholarships and prizes.

Announced last week, the US college is now allowing students from high school to doctorate level to register for the hacking competitions, hosted as part of NYU's Polytechnic School of Engineering Cyber Security Awareness Week (CSAW). Last year, over 15,000 students attended and competed in preliminary rounds in order to reach the finals in six separate competitions. This year, which is the 11th CSAW event, the winners of the preliminary hacking rounds will travel to Brooklyn, NYC to compete for scholarships and prizes.
