National Defense University Appoints Professor Rao as a Visiting Faculty Fellow

Professor Bharat Rao, chair of the department of Technology Management and Innovation at NYU Tandon, has been appointed to the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS) at the National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington D.C. as a visiting faculty fellow. An internationally recognized researcher and speaker on information and communications technologies, Rao is also a research affiliate at the European Institute of Interdisciplinary Research in Paris.

Rao’s current research focuses on the diffusion of emerging technologies, business model evolution, the role of technology in development, and global innovation strategy. His research areas include the impact of information and communications technologies on multiple industries including retailing, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, wireless and broadband innovation and financial services.

INSS conducts research in support of the academic and leader development programs at the National Defense University, provides strategic support to the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and unified combatant commands, and interacts with other U.S. government agencies and the broader national security community.
