Incubator Offers Desk-Space to Startups

The TriBeCa-based incubator currently offers 27 "budding" new companies desk space, access to business seminars, mentoring services, networking opportunities, and the chance to meet angel investors and venture capitalists. More than 300 applied and the companies selected to participate include a green retrofitting company, a digital forensics firm, an online brokerage company and a social networking website.

Located at 160 Varick Street in Manhattan's TriBeCa neighborhood, it's the result of a collaboration between New York City, Trinity Real Estate, and NYU Polytechnic Institute. The BBC's article adds that given the demand, there are plans to expand to house 15 startup companies and the Bloomberg Administration also wants to create four additional incubators, which could house as many as 150 additional startups.
