Giuliana Tesoro helped shape the high-tech fabric industry

Giuliana Tesoro, former research professor in polymer chemistry at NYU Tandon, used her training as an organic chemist to turn into a high-tech fabric pioneer, earning more than 125 U.S. patents. Kalle Levon, NYU Tandon research professor, worked with Tesoro at Tandon, and jointly published two papers based on the results from their projects. "Professor Tesoro's work was very important, not only the molecular thermosets in electronics, but also flame-retardant fibers and natural polymers in textiles," said Levon.
