ECE Awards Certificates to Top Scholars
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department recently launched an award, Certificate of Merit for Academic Excellence, to recognize students whose academic performance has been outstanding. The awards were presented to sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students at a ceremony November 19, 2014.
“Although academic excellence is recognized at the time of graduation, this certificate allows professors to recruit students with proven track records for the Summer Research Program,” explained Professor Shivendra Panwar, chair of the ECE Department. “This also helps seniors and graduate students during their job searches, and sophomores and juniors as they seek summer internships,” he added.
Thirty undergraduate students and 24 graduate students received this award for the current academic year. They represented the top 10 percent in academic achievement.
