Downtown Brooklyn to get clean tech incubator that will house up to 20 startups

New York wants to be Clean City, USA.
The city is deepening its investment in clean technology innovation with the launch of a 10,000-square-foot incubator in downtown Brooklyn, at 15 MetroTech, city officials told the Daily News.
A partnership between the New York City Economic Development Corp. and the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, the Clean Technology Entrepreneur Center is set to be unveiled on Tuesday morning at an Association for a Better New York breakfast to be held at NYU-Polytech.
The incubator will have space for 20 startups focused on energy efficiency, resilience, climate adaptation and other technologies, and will be up and running by the fall.
NYCEDC will provide up to $750,000 in seed funding over two years.
Promoting downtown Brooklyn's tech economy has been a key focus for the city's Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the DUMBO Improvement District, which together launched an initiative called the Brooklyn Tech Triangle.
Officials expect the new incubator to become a key anchor of the budding tech hub.
