DigiCert promotes their COO, LogLogic is acquire, and more company news


DigiCert, an online security provider based in Lindon, Utah, has promoted Chief Operating Officer Nicholas Hales (left) to CEO. Founder Ken Bretschneider will retain business strategy oversight with his appointment as executive chairman of the board. Hales, the company's COO since early 2010, has more than 15 years within the online security space. Previous to DigiCert, he was director and chief legal officer at Comodo, and CEO of USERTrust.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based TIBCO Software has acquired LogLogic, a privately held company based in San Jose, Calif. that offers scalable log and security management platforms. The transaction was approved by the board of directors of each company, though additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Dino Dai Zovi and Dan Guido have taken positions as hackers-in-residence within the Computer Science and Engineering department of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly). The two co-founded New York-based Trail of Bits, an independent information security company, where Dai Zovi is CTO and Guido is CEO.
