Deploying data science and AI to fight wildlife trafficking

NYU Tandon Professor Juliana Freire has teamed up with a number of specialists to help combat the growing issue of wildlife trafficking. So far, this initiative has been awarded a total of $994,000 from the National Science Foundation.

“Preventing or circumventing trafficking is an important goal to protect these animals and the environments that rely on them. And we can use data science to help fight this criminal enterprise,” said Freire.
