Cutting the cord: HEVO Power takes wireless vehicle chargers for a spin


In November 2011, Jeremy McCool decided it was time to pull the plug on electric-powered vehicles. He wasn’t losing faith in the alternative-fuel technology — quite the opposite, actually — but he did think there was a better way to go about charging their batteries. Right now, wall plug-ins are required to recharge the battery in an electric vehicle, but McCool and his team at HEVO Power, in partnership with engineers at New York University’s Polytechnic School of Engineering, have designed a wireless charging solution that could allow drivers to cut the cord once and for all.
