Clean Energy Connections presents Cleantech Elect: What the 2012 Election will mean for the future of US Clean Energy
Clean Energy Connections launches its fourth event of the season with Cleantech Elect: What the 2012 Election will mean for the future of US Clean Energy.
This featured event of Climate Week NYC 2012 will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, 44 Charlton Street (at Varick Street), New York. Greentech Media is the media sponsor for this series and will host the live web stream of this event at www.greentechmedia.com.
Solar One and the New York City Accelerator for a Clean and Renewable Economy (NYC ACRE at NYU-Poly) created the discussion series to join professionals, policymakers, investors and academia to explore major topics shaping New York City’s rising cleantech industry.
The fate of America’s economic, environmental, national security, and diplomatic future depends on having reliable, affordable energy. Other countries have taken the lead in renewable technologies, while debates over U.S. energy policy have never been so polarized. What kind of energy policy – no matter who wins the November election -- will catapult the United States into an age of advanced energy: clean and financially sustainable for both producers and consumers? This event turns to thought leaders who will assess current energy policies, debate what better policies would require from the private sector and government, and examine whether the candidates’ plans will get us where we need to go. Speakers will also examine what effect the candidates’ current policies and views could have on the clean energy industry post-election.
To submit questions in advance of the event, please submit them to sara@solar1.org with the subject line, “Cleantech Elect: Question for Speakers.” Advance Questions can be submitted until 3:00PM on September 27, 2012. We will also be taking questions during the live broadcast via Twitter (@CleanECynyc, #cleanNRGx).
