Jasmin Hume | NYU Tandon School of Engineering

Jasmin Hume

The School of Engineering has a tendency to draw creative minds, individuals who have a spark for invention, innovation and entrepreneurship (i2e). Jasmin Hume exhibits all of these qualities, which is why she chose to pursue her PhD in materials chemistry here on our Brooklyn campus.

Specializing in surface chemistry of biomaterials, this interdisciplinary field is almost a reflection of her global background in Gothenburg, Montreal, Milan, and New York City. Jasmin's life experiences help to bring greater depth to her work in the School of Engineering's modern laboratories as she studies protein engineering, creates novel biomaterials, and much more.

Through her worldwide perspective, unconventional thinking and out-of-the-box solutions, Jasmin continues to create art in materials chemistry as she works toward greater innovation at the School of Engineering.
