Ellen Pearlman

Dr. Ellen Pearlman is a new media artist, curator, writer, critic, and educator.  A Fulbright Research Scholar at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Warsaw, Poland, an MIT Research Fellow, Zero1 American Arts Incubator/U.S State Department artist, Vertigo STARTS Laureate, and two-time Fulbright Specialist in Arts, New Media and Technology. Ellen created "Noor" the world's first interactive immersive brainwave opera in a 360-degree theater, "AIBO", an emotionally intelligent artificial intelligence brainwave opera and "Language Is Leaving Me" an AI cinematic opera of the skin. She received her PhD from the School of Creative Media, Hong Kong City University where her PhD thesis "Noor - A Brainwave Opera - or Is There A Place In Human Consciousness Where Surveillance Cannot Go" received Highest Global Honors from Leonard LABS Abstracts. She is also a Senior Research Assistant Professor at RISEBA University in Riga, Latvia where she serves as an advisor and mentor to their PhD program in New Media.
