Urban Science Innovators: Dana Chermesh-Reshef
NYU CUSP is pleased to host our Innovators Series, featuring the achievements and groundbreaking work of our partners in their respective industries. The series highlights the impact these partners are making and inspires students to think creatively about their career paths. In this conversation, we'll hear from Dana Chermesh-Reshef about how she is using augmented reality to make urban development an inclusive and community-focused experience.
About the Speaker
Dana Chermesh-Reshef is an Architect and an Urban Data Scientist (NYU CUSP 2018), as well as a former F-15 and F-15I flight simulator trainer from the Israeli Air Force. Dana is the Founder & CEO of inCitu, and previously was an Entrepreneur In Residence at Schmidt Futures.
inCitu’s Augmented Reality-powered civic-engagement app puts 3D models in their urban context, making it seamless to communicate projects with a large, diverse audience to win community support while crowdsourcing stakeholders' feedback.
Dana has previously worked at the NYC Department of City Planning (DCP), conducting a data-driven analysis of Regional Planning. In 2020, Dana was selected to become an NYC Urban Design Forum Fellow. Her research on the feasibility of Tel-Aviv’s rezoning was published in “Haaretz” newspaper and she is a frequent lecturer on Smart Cities’ next frontier.
