Restore Our Wetlands presented by Prof. Roy Messaros

For this event in commemoration of Earth Day, Prof Messaros of the Civil Engineering department at NYU Tandon will be giving a presentation on the importance of wetland conservation, as well as the functions of wetlands in improving water quality, sustaining wildlife and biodiversity. Some questions that will be discussed include: 

  1. How has land development affected wetlands?
     
  2. How has the way we’ve thought about wetlands changed over the last few decades?
     
  3. What functions and values do wetlands have and why are they important?
