After years of hype about gigabit speeds, 5G finally became a reality in 2019. AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Qualcomm all now have some form of 5G service available in the United States. And you can buy 5G phones that can take advantage of faster speeds on those networks today. But while 3G made internet surfing possible on our smartphones, and 4G allowed us to stream video in real time, what will this next generation of advanced communication technology give us? And when will the day arrive when we can affordably leverage these services in our everyday quest for increased productivity and content consumption?
