Students pursuing a career in financial services:

As of October 1, 2018, persons working in the securities industry are required to pass a new exam before they can become registered. This exam requirement is transforming the way firms are assessing candidates for these highly sought-after positions. Anyone 18 or over can take this exam, and some firms are requiring that candidates have passed it prior to employment.

By attending this session, you will learn the following:

* The fundamentals of the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam and how the new program differs from the legacy process 
* The impact of the change on hiring processes and candidate requirements 
* How job candidates in these fields can differentiate themselves because of the new process 
* How and when students in these fields should engage in preparing for the new credentials
