Brian Gill

Brian Gill is a Project Manager with the NYC Department of Transportation overseeing design for the upcoming reconstruction contracts on the Manhattan and Queensboro Bridges.  Prior to joining the NYCDOT, he worked as a consultant for 20 years on design, construction and condition inspection of major bridge, highway and building projects.  Mr. Gill received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine in 1986, and a Master of Science in Construction Management from NYU Tandon Polytechnic School of Engineering in 2011, to further advance goals inefficient use of public funds and improving product quality.  He holds Professional Engineering licenses in 4 states including California (with seismic principals) and is a licensed Land Surveyor.  Mr. Gill is Past President of the Municipal Engineers of the City of New York, was on the Board of the NYU Tandon/Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association, and on the Board for 2 other non-profit societies.  He mentors students at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and for Brooklyn Technical High School senior design projects.

Qi Ye

Mr. Qi Ye is the founder and President of CHI Consulting Engineers located in New Jersey.  Qi received a Bachelor of Science degree from Tongji University in Shanghai, China, and a Master of Science degree from SUNY at Buffalo.  He holds Professional Engineering licenses in the States of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida and Delaware. With over 24 years of experience, Qi has extensive experience in design and rehabilitation of suspension bridges, fatigue evaluation of steel structures, seismic analysis and design, and vibration study of bridges.  Additionally, he has extensive experience in designing various deck types, such as the award-winning jointless “floating” grid deck for the Walt Whitman Bridge, and orthotropic decks for the Bronx-Whitestone, Throgs Neck, and Queensboro Bridges.
