Transformational Leadership: Women and the Future of STEM

Join us for popcorn and snacks, while watching this film that uncovers a glaring reality we live with every day but fail to see. Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film challenges the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself.

The Women's Summit is an initiative of the Division of Student Affairs, and exists to empower women students by building connections to faculty, alumna and each other, while providing resources for and promoting discussion of issues and topics relevant to women in STEM. Each year the summit focuses on sharing knowledge, experience and expertise with the School of Engineering's female community and the STEM community at NYU’s Washington Square Campus.
