$225 per week for one-week middle school courses

Schedule:       9:00 am - 3:00 pm Monday - Friday
Registration: https://engineering.nyu.edu/registration/botcamp

Logistics:
  • Courses are limited to 10 students per class
  • Middle Schools courses are each one week
  • High School courses are two weeks
  • Snacks are provided, but lunch is not.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOTCAMP (entering grades 6, 7 and 8 in Fall 2013)

Light Lab

The Light Lab is a 1-week intensive workshop that explores building machines and systems that react to light—a light triggered alarm, a device that plays music, a flashing light box, a light for dark places.  The workshop provides an introduction to analog circuits and students will learn to solder, read and create schematics, wire electonic components, create 3D models, print 3D objects and document their creative projects.

Sound Lab
The Sound Lab is a 1-week intensive workshop that gives students a hands-on experience designing and creating their very own sound machines—an Atari Punk Console, a toy organ, a sound amplifier, and a circuit that bends sound waves. Students develop analog circuits, learn to solder, read and create schematics, wire electronc compnenets, create 3D models, print 3D objects and document their creative projects.

Motion Lab
The Motion Lab is a 1-week intensive where students design and 3D print characters for a stop motion animation.  The course will introduce students to 3D design, 3D scanning, 3D printing, and stop motion animation and storytelling.

Middle School Schedule

Light Lab A – Week of July 8
Light Lab B – Week of July 29
Sound Lab A  - SOLD OUT!
Sound Lab B – Week of August 5
Motion Lab A – SOLD OUT!
Motion Lab B – SOLD OUT!

HIGH SCHOOL BOTCAMP (entering grades 9-12 in Fall 2013)

Creativity Lab

Creativity in Engineering, Science, and Technology 3D (CrEST 3D)

CrEST 3D is an innovative two-week workshop for high school

students applying physical computing, mechanical systems,

electronics and rapid prototyping to design and build interactive 1devices of their own creation. Participants will use 3D printers and microcontrollers, learn about computer coding and 3D rendering software, and acquire skills in building circuits and using specialized tools.

Creative Lab 1   M-F, July 8 - July 19th  (10 spots)
Creative Lab 2 - SOLD OUT!
Creative Lab 3 - M-F, August 5 -  August 16th  (10 spots)
