Get Your Game On - Unity Bootcamp

Workshop / Training

For NYU Community

Overview:

Break into creating 3d interactive games and applications with Unity, a cross platform game engine that produces games that can be run on mobile, and personal computers.  No previous programing knowledge required (but it helps).  “Unity Bootcamp” will get you started with all the basics of creating a game in a modern, easy to use environment.

You will learn how to:

  • Navigate and use Unity’s UI
  • Use game engine physics
  • Particle effects
  • Controlling a character in a 3D environment
  • Importing textures, models, and sounds
  • Scripting interaction, scoring, and other game-play elements
  • Basic animation
  • Build a game and export it for web, mac and PC!

Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops with the latest version of unity installed: http://unity3d.com/unity/download.  Unity works on both mac and PC.  There will be a limited amount of PCs available for use.
