Biologically Inspired Design

For NYU Community

Presented by Jeannette Yen, PhD

Director of the Center for Biologically Inspired Design and Professor of Biology
Georgia Institute of Technology

Featuring a Post-Lecture Hands-On Workshop

Learn how the centuries-old secrets of nature holds the key to innovative design and problem solving inventions that enhance our day-to-day lives and preserve the integrity of the environment.

Jeannette Yen is director of the Center for Biologically Inspired Design and professor of biology at Georgia Institute of Technology. The center brings together an interdisciplinary group of biologists, engineers and physical scientists to facilitate research and education for innovative products, and techniques based on biologically inspired design solutions. The participants believe that biology may serve as an untapped resource for design methodology with concept testing having occurred over millions of years of evolution.
