The School of Engineering is focused on helping students look at the world in a different way, a way that fosters invention, innovation and entrepreneurship. It is for that reason that Arun Kanuparthi is pursuing his Phd in electrical engineering here, and enriching his already unique perspective.
Already a photography enthusiast, Arun uses his hobby to enhance his work the Information Systems and Internet Security (ISIS) Laboratory at the School of Engineering by looking at problems from many different angles. Specializing in hardware, software and Internet security, his current project involves adding extra circuitry to processors and testing for harmful Trojans in chips manufactured outside the US to prevent the leakage of American data.
As more of our information becomes available online, the kind of work Arun does will become even more critically important. At the School of Engineering, he'll be able to continue his task of making our world a safer, more secure (virtual) place.
