Students and alumni must register by using their NYU email address.

Students and alumni have the opportunity to complete four Google Cloud skill badges where they will first learn how to create and manage cloud resources using Cloud Shell and deploy virtual machines in Compute Engine. Students and alumni will then learn about the fundamental features of cloud security, about multiple networking-related resources to build, scale, and secure applications on Google Cloud, and about security at scale on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

Each skill badge quest culminates in a Challenge Lab, which presents a real-world scenario to solve using the skills obtained in the previous self-paced labs.

To earn this badge, complete these 4 Google Cloud skill badges:

  1. Create and Manage Cloud Resources
  2. Ensure Access and Identity in Google Cloud
  3. Build and Secure Networks in Google Cloud
  4. Google Kubernetes Engine Best Practices: Security

Upon completion, make your badge profile public and email the url to cyberfellows@nyu.edu to receive your NYU Industry Partner Badge.

Along with earning the Security in Google Cloud badge, learners will be on their way toward earning the Google Cloud Security Engineer professional certification. To learn more about the certification, explore the requirements of the Security Engineering Learning path.

Approximate time to earn the Cloud Security Badge: ~ 25-30 hours

Recommend Prerequisite Experience: The skill badge quests build on each other and assume completion of the previous skill badge in the series.
