This experiment investigates flow characteristics along an air foil submersed in a wind tunnel generated air stream. Pressure taps, located along the upper and lower surfaces of the air foil, are used to measure flow velocity/pressure at discrete points along the surface of the air foil. In addition, liquid column gauges provide a visual reading of the flow velocity/pressure on the surface of the air foil.

A typical aerospace application involves adjusting the air foil's angle of attack to provide the maximum amount of lift (measured by the differential pressure between the top and bottom air foil surface) without falling into the stall regime.
