I was born in Kerman, Iran, in 1983. I received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Shahid Bahonar University, Kerman, in 2006, the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, Brooklyn, NY in 2014.

I have worked as an Intern Electrical Design Engineer in North Electric Distribution Company, Kerman, Iran, on a project to reduce the distribution system losses, in 2005. From September 2007 to August 2009 I worked for Petro Kav Andish Consulting Company, Tehran, Iran as an Electrical Design Engineer. From September 2009 to October 2011 i was a Research Assistant in the High Voltage Laboratory, Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), working on Insulation Coordination of Iran Power System Substations, funded by Iran Grid Management Company.

My fields of interest include electromagnetic design, modeling, and simulation of electrical machines and power system components; statistical pattern-recognition applications in power engineering; power system protection; and power quality.
