Professor Petrov is practicing architect and structural engineer. He is an Associate Director in the structures group at the New York office of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, where he works on highrises and long span structures in North America and around the world. He is the leader of SOM’s space architecture endeavors. As a space architect he has over 20 years of experience in both design and advocacy for the field. He is a licensed Architect and Professional Engineer in New York and a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan.
