Student Transportation

A Message from the Office of the President

Dear Students,

As we move closer to January 1, 2014, when the School of Engineering officially becomes the NYU School of Engineering, we will continue to share information with you about the merger. You can also visit http://engineering.nyu.edu/about/merger/announcements to get the latest news.

Many of you have raised the question of student transportation between Brooklyn and Manhattan. You may be aware that NYU runs the overnight “on-demand” Safe Ride service. This service provides transportation upon request to any student between the hours of 12 AM and 6:30 AM. The School of Engineering students are eligible to use this service currently. The Safe Ride phone number is (212) 992-VANS (992-8267) and students can also download NYU’s Mobile app to access Safe Ride.

In addition, we have been examining the possibility of operating a shuttle service between the School of Engineering and Washington Square. Details are still being worked out but our intent is to launch a pilot program during the Spring Semester. More details will be forthcoming as they become available.

With warm regards,

Katepalli Sreenivasan
