Making room in a crowded wireless spectrum
Assistant Professor Brandon Reagen and Professor Sundeep Rangan are part of a team working on a project called TRACER – the Tasklet Reconfigurable Agile speCtrum procEssoR – which will advance autonomous radio frequency (RF) spectrum signal processing systems. While RF autonomous systems work by adhering to a set of policies, TRACER’s decision system is made automatically and intelligently – sensing the spectrum and adapting to the perceived environment – which leads to increased robustness and efficiency.
