Chris Leslie, Department of Technology, Culture and Society, was honored with the Samuel Eleazar and Rose Tartakow Levinson Prize from the Society for the History of Technology for his essay, "As We Should Have Thought: The Intellectual Legacy of Memex." The prize was presented at last month's annual meeting in Cleveland, OH.
In making the award, the committee noted that "Leslie's essay makes notable contributions to the history of technology. He incorporates digital media studies into the field, including media theory and the emergence of new media. Leslie also adds to the theory of technological innovation and development." The essay is now under consideration by the society's journal, Technology and Culture.
