Merilli Named Skyline Pitcher of the Week

BROOKLYN, NY -  Sophomore pitcher  Miranda Merilli (Altoona, PA) has been named the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week for Women's Softball, the conference announced on Monday.  Merilli notched three complete game victories – including a perfect game – in three starts on the week. She had a 0.82 earned run average over 17 innings while scattering five hit. Merilli fanned 22 batters, inclduing 13 in the perfect game on April 2nd as NYU-Poly downed Mount Saint Vincent, 13-0 in five innings.

This marks the second time she has hurled a perfect game. Last year she recorded the first-ever perfect game in NYU-Poly softball program history in a 5-inning affair against Lehman College.
