Men's Tennis Wins a Pair

Outhits Sage and Sarah Lawrence

BRONXVILLE, NY -  The NYU-Poly men's tennis team was coming off a disappointing week night loss to Skyline Conference rival St. Joseph's (LI). Unfortunately, the Sage Colleges and Sarah Lawrence College had to take the brunt of the Jays frustration as NYU-Poly shutout Sage on Saturday 9-0 and then bounced Sarah Lawrence 8-1 on Sunday.

Junior Yan Krasny (Far Rockaway, NY) rebounded from his first career loss in Skyline play (16-1 overall) at St. Joseph's. He had a convincing  win against Skyline member Sage's number one.

The win against Sage gave the Jays their first win in conference play (1-2) while Sunday's non-conference win got NYU-Poly back to .500 overall with a 3-3 mark.  NYU-Poly is on a two match win streak.

In the win against Sarh Lawrence a handful of Jays won their first matches, a few playing at higher seeds. Aliaksandr Ryzhko (Brooklyn, NY) won his first collegiate match playing at #1 singles by a 10-2 margin.  At fifth singles Vincent Siu (Columbia, MD) won in a tight contest, 10-8, and Michael Ye (Brooklyn, NY), Michael Lupo (Brooklyn, NY), and Kelvin Lin (New York, NY) all picked up wins for NYU-Poly in singles play. The Jays also swept doubles action.
