New England Sweeps a Pair From Baseball

Jays Fall to 0-3

DANVILLE, VA -  The NYU-Poly baseball team fell to 0-3 on the season with a pair of 5-inning losses to New England College Sunday afternoon on the campus of Averett College in Virginia. The Jays lost by scores of 17-3 and 16-2.

In game one, freshmen Christian Conroy (Queens, NY) was the lone bright spot, as he went 2-for-2 at the plate and batted in one of the two NYU-Poly runs.  Sophomore Sal DeVito (Pequannock, NJ) took the loss on the mound.  Six NYU-Poly errors didn't help the matter.

In game two, Nathan Albers (Burbank, CA) and Chris Giamarino (Placentia, CA) both had a pair of hits, with Giamarino knocking in two runs. But, the defense again proved the downfall as six more errors led to 10 unearned runs.  Sophomore Anthony Finch (New York, NY) was hit with the loss for NYU-Poly.

The Jays are back in action today as they play host Averett College.
