Diversity in STEM Summit 2021
At Tandon, we are committed to building a culture that respects and embraces diversity, inclusion, and equity. Join the Office of Student Affairs in partnership with the Office of Inclusive Excellence for the 7th annual Diversity in STEM Summit at NYU Tandon School of Engineering from November 11th-November 18th.
This year's Summit will explore the theme "Envisioning an Equitable Tomorrow." Signature programs will feature scientists, both in NYU and beyond, discussing the innovations they are bringing to their field and their own journeys and beliefs as to why a diverse workforce is essential to STEM. We're also excited to be partnering with the Diversity & Inclusion Research Conference where four NYU students will be presenting their research and we are giving away free passes to the entire virtual event.
We will also have some great giveaways at all Summit events and online, so be sure to follow us all week on social media @NYUTandonSA!

The Path to Inclusive Excellence (Webinar)

Join the Office of Inclusive Excellence for an event of reflection and learning in a common space where we can discuss what inclusive excellence means for us at NYU Tandon, for STEM, within academia, and the world. The goal is to empower members of the Tandon community to make the critical shift towards engaging in consistent and persistent actions aimed at creating an equitable existence where everyone is heard, acknowledged, and respected.
Diversity in Research Conference (DIRC)
Wednesday, November 17 - Friday, November 19
The Diversity & Inclusion Research Conference focuses on how research can help address issues of diversity, equity and inclusion across society. Tandon is pleased to offer complimentary passes to the DIRC Conference for all interested students, faculty and staff. Student Research Snapshots

Virtual & MakerSpace Event Space (6 MetroTech Center)
We're thrilled to share that four of our own NYU Tandon students will be participating in this virtual DIRC session and sharing their research: Nelson James, Falaah Arif Khan, Dustin Britton, and Kaz Burns. We will be hosting a live viewing of this session in the MakerSpace Event Space for any students who want to come cheer on their classmates. Boxed lunches will be available to grab at the conclusion of the session. If you cannot make it in-person, you are also welcome to watch at your leisure if you request a complimentary DIRC pass.
Closing Keynote Program

Our final program of the Summit features a welcome on behalf of the Office of Global Inclusion before introducing our closing keynote speaker, Dr. André Fenton, Professor of Neural Science in the NYU Faculty of Arts & Science, who will share some of his excellent research as well as his path into STEM. Join us for an engaging discussion where we will leave time for audience Q+A! Grab and go dinner will be available to participants at the conclusion of the event.
