Going Online: Perspectives on Digital Learning with Author Robert Ubell

Lecture / Panel

For NYU Community

Author of Going Online, just published by Routledge, Robert Ubell is Vice Dean Emeritus at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering. Applauding the book, Ralph Gomory, former president of the Sloan Foundation, remarked, “Ubell describes in detail how new technology allows us to use online learning in new ways that are both more participatory and more effective. These assertions come from someone with a remarkable track record of making learning actually happen."

Robert will cover two chapters from his book, Going Online: Perspectives on Digital Learning, devoting about 20 minutes to each. He will be joined by John Vivolo, Director of Online and Virtual Learning for NYU's Tandon School of Engineering. John partners with faculty to devise a set of "Best Practices for Online Learning." Working to create a rich and interactive learning experience, John researches new methods and technologies to incorporate into digital learning.
