PREPARE FOR YOUR FUTURE

You are invited to join the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering for a three-week, two credit summer course in Science and Technology Studies.

MORE ABOUT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY STUDIES

This two-credit summer course encourages students to expand upon their critical thinking and verbal reasoning skills while analyzing topics related to healthcare. As students explore health issues including personalized medicine in the age of the genome, ethics of pharmaceutical testing, healthcare in developing countries, and policies to promote health, they will develop a research paper that can be used for college applications.

(Students will receive 2 college credits listed as STS 1002: Introduction to Science and Technology Studies.)

THE CURRICULUM

Classes begin Monday July 7th and end on Thursday, August 14th.  Classes meet Tuesday thru Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

COSTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

For more information regarding tuition and fees, please click here. Scholarships are available up to $3,300. Students will receive the NYU Precollege application via email after submitting the program specific application.

ADMISSION PROCESS

This course is offered as a part of the NYU Precollege program.  Students interested in taking this course must apply to NYU Precollege.  If admitted to the program, students may view the course information in the NYU Precollege course search, including instructions on how to apply to take Introduction to Engineering and Design by submitting a course application to the School of Engineering.  Students approved to take the course will be registered in the course by the School of Engineering.  Only students admitted to both NYU Precollege and to the course may be enrolled in the course.
