The NYU-Poly CSAW Program for Young Women in High School provides a unique opportunity for teenage women from the New York City area. Qualified students will engage in an educational program covering the fundamental concepts of computer science, math and cybersecurity, leading to participation in a nationwide CSAW High School Cyber Forensics Challenge hosted annually by NYU-Poly (see: engineering.nyu.edu/csaw2012).

30 qualified young women from local high schools will be selected to engage in two weeks of stipend-supported day trips for lectures and hands-on training in New York City. The program is designed to introduce the basic ideas and challenges of computer science and cybersecurity to high school students.

The program will include significant hands-on components and students will be provided access to an online-accessible Virtual Lab (VITAL) to facilitate extracurricular and self-learning activity as students compete in CSAW. Participants will be monitored and evaluated, and a formal letter of completion and evaluation will be provided. Students will also gain access to a mentor network of NYU-Poly alumni and affiliates for career and professional resources.

Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to gain exposure in a growing and increasingly important career field.
