Ajay Dugar joined the FRE department as an MSFE student in Fall 2020. Prior to this, he graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, and Econometrics & Quantitative Economics. He’s motivated by his desire to combine traditional and quantitative investment techniques that allow investors to generate superior returns.
While in the MSFE program, Ajay has done a number of research projects and competitions. He led a team of four students to participate in the Cornell Investment Portfolio Case Competition, conducting an analysis of ESG and impact investment portfolio analytics and pricing. Additionally, his interest in portfolio analytics has led him to work with Dr. Tommy Philips and Dr. Doug Martin to develop an R package to visualize financial data. After graduation, he plans to pursue quant trading and develop models for exotic options pricing.
