Academic and Financial

Financial Aid

NYU Tandon School of Engineering offers a wide variety of financial assistance to students including scholarships, fellowships, need-based tuition awards, federal and private loans, and a range of flexible payment plans. Many of these programs can be combined to provide a package of assistance that meets your particular needs and circumstances.


From providing reference materials to quiet areas for study, the library will be an extremely important part of your life as an NYU School of Engineering student.

Polytechnic Tutoring Center

The Polytechnic Tutoring Center, often referred to simply as the "PTC," is dedicated to giving you the individualized attention you need to help you achieve your academic goals at NYU School of Engineering. Our services are available to all students, free of charge. The PTC’s Writing Center provides help with writing assignments by offering students appointments and drop-in hours. The Writing Center at the PTC also offers help with speaking assignments and English conversation.


The Registrar's Office is the keeper of all students' academic records. Any and all documents vital to your academic record will be kept here (with the exception of registration forms and grade information).

Health, Wellness, Fitness, and Living

Athletics and Recreation

The Athletics office offers intramurals, clubs and classes, as well as access to a gym and fitness center. Intramurals, clubs, and classes, and the fitness center are open to all current students.

Counseling and Wellness Services

Counseling and Wellness Services offer a variety of services designed to help NYU Tandon School of Engineering students achieve their maximum potential both academically and professionally. The staff consists of licensed psychiatrists, psychologists and psychological trainees who offer short-term individual psychotherapy, group counseling, and consultation.


NYU School of Engineering offers limited housing opportunities for Graduate Students at the Clark Residence in close proximity to campus. 

Off-Campus Housing

These resources are merely suggestions. NYU School of Engineering does not endorse any of the websites or resources below. As always, when using online resources, please use necessary caution and refrain from sharing sensitive materials (financial, personal, etc.) online.

NYU School of Engineering students can access the NYU Off-Campus Housing Office at the Washington Square Campus. This office offers resources and guidance with the process of finding safe and affordable off-campus housing. They also provide roommate listings. NYU School of Engineering students can visit the office in person at 4 Washington Square Village.

Many NYU School of Engineering Students reside in Ozone Park in Queens, or Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. The commute is around 30 minutes, but is much more reasonably priced than the area surrounding NYU School of Engineering.

Temporary Housing 
  • Aloft Hotel is a short walk from campus in Downtown Brooklyn. A discounted rate may be available for NYU School of Engineering Students at approximately $130 per night plus taxes.

Office of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs

The Office of Associate Dean of Student Affairs is concerned with the holistic education and development of all NYU School of Engineering students both inside and outside the classroom. Student Affairs help students put the various pieces of their educational, personal and professional developmental puzzle together from orientation to commencement. The Division of Student Affairs supports NYU School of Engineering’s academic mission by enhancing students’ education through a range of programs that build intrapersonal, professional, emotional, and other essential life skills. We work in partnership with academic, support, and service departments to tailor our activities to students’ needs. Our programs address emerging issues and foster community building.


Office of Graduate Enrollment Management and Admissions

The Office of Graduate Enrollment Management and Admissions is a one-stop office that services the entire graduate school community. It focuses on areas such as outreach, admissions, enrollment, retention, funding and scholarship opportunities. During NGSO, new students with conditional admission such as ESL, proof-of-degree, perquisites, or other academic conditions are required to check-in with the Office of Graduate Enrollment Management and Admissions. Please see the NGSO schedule for more details on time and location.

Information Techology Services

The Information Technology Services (ITS) department can help you with a variety of computer and networking needs – from obtaining usernames or passwords for NYU Albert and your NYU NetID, to solving e-mail and laptop issues.

International Students

Office of Global Services - Brooklyn Location

The NYU Office of Global Services helps international students with their documentation and processing. If you are an international student, you are required to check-in with OGS before registering for classes. If you plan to travel outside of the United States during your course of study, OGS must approve your travel plans ahead of time. There are many other requirements of international students that will be discussed during the OGS Internation Student Orientation sessions during NGSO.

NYU Services for NYU School of Engineering Students

Planning for Life Beyond NYU School of Engineering

Alumni Relations

The Office of Alumni Relations serves as a liaison between the Polytechnic Institute Alumni Association and the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. The office maintains alumni records, assists with planning alumni events and coordinates alumni fund-raising efforts.

NYU Tandon School of Engineering's alumni association has more than 28,000 members living in all 50 states and at least 64 countries. Over 6,600 alumni live in the five boroughs of New York City. Membership in the alumni association is automatic and free for those who have graduated from the School of Engineering. Alumni receive the Cable magazine and a wide-range of benefits.

Wasserman Center for Career Development - Brooklyn

The Wasserman Center for Career Development - Brooklyn offers a variety of services:
