Matt is the Community & Project Lead for the AI & Local News initiative, supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Most recently, Matt worked on the launch of the Journalism Creators Program, which teaches journalists to start their own niche publications. And previously, he was an Academic Program Specialist at the Newmark Graduate School of Journalism (CUNY) where he ran the Emerging Tech lab, created programming and resources about storytelling with AR &VR, and started the CUNY AR/VR group. Matt has led workshops and presentations at ONA, WAN-IFRA, Civic Hall, the Latino Media Summit, and Allied Media Conference. He holds a BA in Economics from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, and an MA in journalism from Newmark Graduate School of Journalism (CUNY).
