NYU MakerSpace & Design Lab

The NYU Tandon MakerSpace & Design Lab offer online modules for manufacturing training as well as virtual synchronous workshops, office hours, and mentoring. To access the MakerSpace in Fall 2020, all students will be required to first watch an overview of lab safety operations due to Covid-19. Check the NYU Stream MakerSpace Channel for online training modules and workshops, available to all NYU students. Online training modules are followed by one-on-one, socially distanced in-person sessions to complete training required to reserve the machines.

NYU Data Services

NYU Data Services offers a wide variety of synchronous virtual workshops, as well as one-on-one consultation support. Workshops are focused on geographic information systems (GIS), quantitative/statistical and qualitative analyses, data visualization, data management, survey design, finding data, and high-performance computing (HPC). Check the calendar for upcoming workshops.

NYU Data Services provides consultation for supported software and coding platforms, data management and data finding, and locating resources to support methodological choices. Staff members can assist learners as they understand the implications of those choices, and help learners execute these choices within a supported software package.



Tandon Student2Scholar Series

The Student2Scholar Series of workshops was designed by researchers at NYU Dibner Library to meet the needs of undergraduate students at Tandon who are looking to develop research and professional skills. The workshops are open to all NYU Tandon students as well as all non-Tandon VIP students.

Tandon Career Services

NYU Tandon Career Services offers coaching and professional development training and support Tandon students in finding and preparing for their next professional steps. The Tandon Office of Career Services also organizes Industry Info Sessions, Tech Talks, Career Fairs, and Interviews.

NYU TandonConnect Portal

All VIP students are encouraged to also visit the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development for coaching and support.

NYU Tandon students can book an appointment through TandonConnect to receive focused support on topics ranging from resume reviews and mock interviews to job search strategies and general career exploration help. Students may schedule appointments on a recurring basis or as needed.

Employers from all industries come to NYU Tandon to meet, interview and propose on-the-spot offers to NYU Tandon students. Students looking for an internship or a job are highly encouraged to sign up for these sessions through TandonConnect.


Tech Talk presentations feature organizations who discuss their work, projects as well as various recruitment opportunities that exist for NYU Tandon students (internships and jobs). The Tech Talks are followed by a Q&A session and a meet & greet with the employer representatives, with members of the recruitment team usually in attendance as well.


The Tandon Office of Career Services organizes monthly virtual career fairs with employers throughout the academic year. Events are organized by major, by industry as well as “on-demand” for employers who have a number of positions to fill. 


NYU Tandon will host two weeks of virtual Fall Career Recruitment events from September 8-18, 2020:

  • September 8-14, 2020 | Virtual Info Sessions: Live employer presentations to discuss their internship/entry level roles & student/recent grad programs.
     
  • September 14-18, 2020 | Virtual Career Fairs - Employers have access to five (5) different virtual career fair events, during which they will be able to meet with students 1-on-1 via video chat.

NYU Tandon Virtual Programs 

Tandon Teaches gives members of our community, whether they be students, staff, or faculty, an outlet to show off a skill, talent, or interest, and most importantly, connect with others.

Leadership Lab is a series of leadership development programs that take place throughout the academic year for students of all levels. Workshops guide students in discovering who they are as leaders and becoming confident with tangible leadership skills and strategies that can be applied to their everyday lives.
