Gisselle Cunningham - Undergraduate Student Profile
Meet Gisselle Cunningham, a hardworking the School of Engineering graduate with a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. Cunningham utilizes her real-world knowledge gained through stints at NASA and IBM while working in an academic research environment.
With a passion for music, Gisselle never imagined she would be working as a computer engineer. A Brooklyn native, Gisselle took her uncle's advice and visited the School of Engineering. Within a short time, she was amazed at the work undergraduate students were performing and immediately knew she would have a future in engineering.
As a class of 2010 the School of Engineering graduate, Gisselle was able to witness firsthand that the knowledge she learned in the classroom easily applies in a real working environment. During her time at Poly, she interned at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and, because of her extensive knowledge, was asked to come back the following year. After graduation, Gisselle worked for IBM at their Research and Development Center in Austin, Texas. As an empowered female engineering student, Gisselle easily adapts her computer engineering background to various fields across engineering, giving her a competitive edge.
