Christine Pembroke | NYU Tandon School of Engineering

Christine Pembroke

Freshman Christine Pembroke calls Brooklyn home. She loves her surroundings and wanted to attend a University that inspired her as much as her neighborhood does—that’s why she chose the School of Engineering. As a Construction Management major, Christine knew her hometown would provide the right atmosphere for her to succeed in her chosen field.

In these early stages of her college career, Christine is trying to experience as much as possible. She works as a student ambassador, is involved with the National Society of Black Engineers on campus and frequently attends tutoring sessions at the School of Engineering's Trio Tutoring Center.

Christine’s day starts with a stop at Starbucks and a few minutes of review before morning classes. After class, she has a tutoring appointment and then walks over to the admissions building for work-study. In her free time, Christine loves to sing—in fact, she sang the National Anthem at the 2011 156th Commencement ceremony.

When her busy day is done, Christine might head into the City to hang out or go to the NYU Bobst library to study and finish her homework.
