Associate Research Scientist, Adjunct Faculty

Carlotta Mummolo received her bachelor and master degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic of Bari (Italy) in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and a second master degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York University (NYU) in 2011.  In December 2015, Carlotta received two doctoral degrees through a joint Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering between Polytechnic of Bari and NYU. She is currently an associate research scientist in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department of NYU Tandon, where she also teaches the graduate courses of Simulation Tools for Mechatronics, Introduction to Robot Mechanics, and Robot Mobility.

Her research interests are in the fields of dynamics, optimization, motion planning and control, mechanisms and robotics, and biomechanics, with applications in locomotion, whole body balance and control, rehabilitation robotics, and autonomous systems.   She is a member of ASME, IEEE, and SWE and her work has been published in several journal articles and conference presentations.
