Phillip Mak is the Cybersecurity Security Operations Center Lead for a large government organization.

Prior to this role, Phillip was a Cybersecurity Lead at the Department of Defense. He has 10+ year of extensive experience in supporting the institutionalization of Cybersecurity in all areas of the DoD acquisition lifecycle for real-time, mission-essential, safety-critical systems.

In that role, Phillip supported the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) to improve the assurance that software developed or acquired is free of vulnerabilities.

Phillip’s success is due to his understanding and application of the numerous Cybersecurity policies, procedures, and regulations related to the entire lifecycle of a weapon system, and to his ability to discuss and present complex Cybersecurity issues to decision makers and leaders.

In October 2012, Phillip received the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, signed by BG Daniel P. Hughes, for his services to Future Combat Systems.

Phillip is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and certified Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking (GPEN), among others.
