Biography

Marco Cello was born in Savona, Italy in 1983. He got his "Laurea" (B. Sc.) degree at the University of Genoa, Italy in 2005 with a thesis on VoIP. He got his "Laurea Magistrale" (M.Sc.) degree cum laude at the University of Genoa, Italy in 2008 with a thesis on Interplanetary Networks. In 2008 he worked at the SCNL as research fellow. From 2009 to 2011 he worked at the SCNL Laboratory as Ph.D student. His Ph.D course was funded by Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (Italy). His first year as Post-doc research fellow was funded by Fondazione Carige.

Now he is working as Post-Doc research fellow at Polytechnic Institute of New York University and as Visiting Research Fellow at New York University Abu Dhabi

During his research activity he collaborated in European projects:
* Mobilnet project - QoS solutions for LTE, Selex-Elsag;
* The Satellite Communications Network of Excellence - SatNEx III - COO2, ESA;
* The Satellite Communications Network of Excellence - SatNEx III - COO1, ESA;
* Emulator for an ETSI BSM-Compliant SI-SAP Interface, ESA;

His main research activity concerns:
* Call Admission Control
* Network Modelling/Teletraffic Engineering
* Routing and Congestion Control in Delay Tolerant Networks
* Software Defined Networking
