Biography

Professor Jay Chen is a assistant professor at NYU Abu Dhabi and the Co-Director of the Design Technology Lab. His research is in the area of information and communication technologies for development (ICTD), a rich seam at the intersection of technical systems and social systems. His work focuses on 'incidental interventions', technology interventions that leverage people's existing behaviors or latent aspirations in order to encourage technology adoption in developing regions.

He is a research assistant professor at the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering and a member of the Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED).
