NYU-Poly Men's Tennis Upsets Purchase

Jays now 2-0 in Skyline action

Sophomore Kyle Garingalao returns a shot against Purchase.

Purchase, NY -  The NYU-Poly men's tennis team remained perfect in Skyline Conference play as they edged Purchase College 5-4 Wednesday afternoon. The Jays are now 2-0 in the Skyline as they have now defeated two squads (Purchase and Yeshiva) who both beat NYU-Poly in 2009.

Sophomore Yan Krasny (Far Rockaway, NY) closed out the deadlocked match (4-4) with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles to give NYU-Poly the Skyline win. Other winners included the freshmen trio of Julian Wrede (New York, NY) at second singles, 6-3, 6-2; Connor Doherty (San Leandro, CA) at third singles 6-2, 6-1 and Conor Dawson (Novato, CA) at 6th singles 6-4, 6-2.

The doubles team of Krasny and Doherty was also victorius, 8-2.  NYU-Poly has a weekend double-header as they host Baruch College on Saturday at the USTA Center and then travel to Ramapo College on Sunday. Both contests are non-conference.
