Streak Snapped; Women's Basketball Beats City Tech 53-47

Lady Jays end four game skid.

Brooklyn, NY -  The NYU-Poly women's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak Monday night as they defeated MetroTech rival City Tech, 53-47. The Lady Jays overcame a 25-23 halftime deficit thanks in part to sophomore Kristin Leitheuser's (Millbrook, NY) double-double performance. She led all scorers with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

NYU-Poly, whose last victory came against Purchase back on January 16th, improves to 8-10 overall. City Tech falls to 3-17 overall.

Sophomore Margaux PIckell (Howell, NJ) added 10 points for NYU-Poly, while freshmen Shelby Bruns (Elko, NV) continued her consistent play, adding eight points and a career best 11 boards.

The Lady Jays are back in action on Sunday as they square off in a must-win, Skyline Conference tilt against Bard College. The home contest was moved from Saturday to Sunday and will be played at 12:00pm as part of a women's/men's double-header at the Jacobs Gymnasium.
