The program will provide $3,500 for her summer salary for a ten-week program. In addition, a stipend will be available for her to present her research results at an ACS sponsored meeting.

Junior Mandy (Man Xia) Lee was awarded the 2007 American Chemical Society Division of Fluorine Chemistry Moissan Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. She was awarded this fellowship for her work on Fluorinated Amino Acids in Protein Design. Mandy, a Biomolecular Science major, has been working in the Montclare Laboratory towards engineering a fluorinated protein with high stability and investigating new methods for the incorporation of non-natural amino acids into proteins.
