Polytechnic University hosted the 9th Annual Lynford Lecture, on Thursday, December 7. Ethernet inventor and technology pioneer, Robert Metcalfe, discussed technology innovation and was presented with Poly’s 2006 Institute for Mathematics and Supercomputing (IMAS) Award.
The Lynford Lecture Series, sponsored by Polytechnic Trustee, Jeffrey H. Lynford, and his wife, Tondra, highlights the work of outstanding mathematicians, scientists and visionaries. IMAS, led by the internationally renowned mathematicians, Drs. David and Gregory Chudnovsky, cosponsor the lecture.
At the lecture, Honorary Co-chair of Net Generation of Youth, President Jerry M. Hultin, and Queens Council Member, Eric N. Gioia, discussed technology innovations with cyber-journalist students from the Net Generation of Youth School, Freedom Academy in Brooklyn, New York.
